F32 grill on that car would be a huge improvement.

Gosh, imagine if BMW were stuck there!

Btw, origional BMWs had huge kidneys, forgot? No body screwed up anything.
Again (probably about the 1000th response). It is not about the size and shape, it is how it is implemented in the overall design...

And in addition, have you ever had so many comments where people saw all kind of "cars" in this design but not that much BMW??
Everyone is changing their designs, Audi, Merc, Porsche....but you still see "their" design language...but if only the kidney is a "hey I'm a BMW" now, this is poor design for me. Especially if you will cover such an iconic design element wi a licence plate in most countries.

However, tastes are different and this is very good, if you like it, good for you, I just wanted to point out, that in my opinion they could have a pretty distinct 4er (M3/M4) but executed much nicer and played more with all the BMW design elements they introduced over all these years and these elements are for a lot of people the key, why they choose a BMW over something else...

Popular

Yeah, you can see how popular the 'new look' is based on the bystanders crowding around the car to grab a glimpse of the 'beauty'.

To be brutally honest, I'd say flinging petty insults towards the people who like this car feels more like signs of low self esteem.
This is really unnecessary.

I still have the same complaints about the g20.
It never grew on me and I lease one. Only positive thing I can say about it, is the technology is better, and its way bigger inside.

If we could all design our own BMW, each one would look different.

There is no way a hand full of designers would ever hit the mark for everyone on earth.

By evolving their design (which is needed), they knew they'll cause some controversy, but this is not their first rodeo. These ppl at BMW have been doing this for a long time and still is on top.

By wishing them misfortune because you don't like their design... maybe the fault is not with BMW...

I actually think there's merit to the model. How many times have enthusiasts needed to retrofit hardware and software for items they wanted?!? BMW outfitting all cars with the capability and allowing for a'la carte choices (...again, BMW listening to customer complaints about requiring packages and losing the a'la carte options from the E46 days) is probably a good thing. It also allows for customers to deactivate items they no longer want or buyers of used cars to deactivate/activate features they want.

I know Tesla has experienced issues with this type of approach, but if BMW can get it right it may be a hit.

So you think they will lower the price of the car to what it is now without the options and then add a subscription charge?

That's a good question. Apparently this started with the 5 Series and will apply to every BMW built starting this month. It remains to be seen how well it's priced, implemented and integrated. BMW owners asked for more tech, OTA options similar to Tesla, etc., so BMW is bringing that interface to us, albeit in their own way and in a format they hope will work for their customer base. I'm curious to see how it all works.

It honestly reminds me of every other car it it's segment. Grills have been growing for a while now and this stands out but in reality, mostly fits into the trend.
