Service Inclusive

Does anyone know whether Service Inclusive (bought direct from BMW) includes MOT costs? I have 5 years SI, but it’s not obvious from the BMW website whether it includes the cost of the MOT.

Anyone been through that, yet?

No I don't know, but I have a service pack purchased through my local dealer (EMAC) that includes the 1 MOT. All the items that it covers are listed in the schedule.

I’m sure with my F30 service pack (2015) any MOT repairs (apart from tyres) were covered as long as you got it serviced and MOT’ed by BMW.

Sure you will but just ensure that your MOT is done before your 3 years are up. Should it fail anything , the warranty should cover it unless it’s a fair wear and tear item or such

Yeah, I know about MOT protect. And my 5 years Service Inclusive extends the MOT protect for those five years too. What wasn’t clear was whether SI includes the MOT itself.

Further digging suggests that the pay-monthly service plans do, but the up-front Service Inclusive doesn’t. Can’t really complain, I guess - still think 5 years SI was a bargain at just over £600.

The only time to buy Service Inclusive is when they have a Black Friday offer. I think it was 40% off when I got mine. Plus it was 5 years as opposed to the normal 3 years which they were flogging at the time. It was a no brainer.

Yeah, that was a great deal! For me on the 340i that want around £780 for 3 years cover. Something else I need to sort out before the end of February, before the car is 3 years old.

Just checked the price of Service inclusive now, and it's £935 now, only one month later.

What if you pay in full, rather than monthly?

Exactly the same price, Paul, so I'd pay it monthly.

Just wondering... My car will be 3 years old in ten days. I am not the first owner of the car, but I sort of expected BMW to send me an e-mail regarding taking out a service plan i.e. Service Inclusive, but I've not had anything through so far.

I must get a quote from my local dealer and compare that to the on-line price on the BMW website, and ensure all the T's and C's are the same.

Will do that tomorrow when phone them to confirm my booking for the creaking steering wheel issue on Thursday.

Service inclusive is just for servicing. I think what you are talking about is extended warranty. They are supposed to contact before the three years, and send you a code for the website, but mine just went over the three years and no code, so I had to contact them. The phone line is useless - half an hour in a queue. But they do respond to emails. bmwsales@allianz-assistance.co.uk

In your initial email to them include your current mileage.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Paul, I'll take a note of that. I bought my car in August last year, and one years extended BMW warranty was included, so I should not need to extend my warranty until August.

I thought that BMW would promote Service Inclusive to current owners when the car is 3 years old and you're no longer covered my manufactures warranty, but I guess not...

A guy at work has an Audi A4 avant. Out of warranty later this month. Audi currently offer:
1 x minor service
1 x major service
2 x MOT
2 years warranty
2 years roadside assistance
£854

Thought that was quite good compared to what some of us pay with our BMWs

They promote service inclusive with new cars, because you have to pay for servicing from day one. It has nothing to do with warranty.

OK firstly, am I missing something, is there any difference between a service plan and "Service Inclusive"?

I got a quote for a service plan from my local BMW dealer, same as in the image above a few posts up, 2 year plan, covers one major and one minor service, no MOT's.

The BMW UK plan covers additional biannual inspections, the local dealer plan does not.

T&C's for the Local dealer plan are rather lacking in detail TBH.

Only states S1 Major, All applicable parts and labour, Brake Fluid, Vehicle check. S2 minor, All applicable parts and labour.

I think the BMW UK service plan I think actually goes into a bit more detail IIRC, it mentions replacing spark plugs and filters or something like that I think.

But... The local dealer plan is £701.46 compared to the BMW UK plan price of £935.64

In reality, what would I be gaining by going with BMW UK plan?

TIA!!

If you can wait until November get the BMW one in the Black Friday sale. It’s usually 5 years there, unlike the normal 3 year jobbie.

OK thanks Paul, I have only been offered a 2 year plan so far, by either BMW UK or the local dealer. My car is 3 years old today though, so I'm thinking maybe the pricing for the service plan changes once the car is 5 years old.

It might be worth holding off till November though, like you suggest.

Service Inclusive was excluded (sorry about the pun) from the Black Friday reductions last year, and I think the preceding year also.
