Dealership messed up and ordered my M340i without xDrive
Put in an order for a M340i xDrive back in April. Or at least that's what I thought.
Unfortunately it looks like a mistake was made and my M340i was built as an RWD instead which I just now noticed. I am supposed to do a PCD early next month. I don't believe that the dealer has even realized the mistake yet. Has anyone else had their order messed up? |

There was a thread on here where it happened to someone in California that ordered the car and already took delivery. At least you haven’t taken delivery yet so maybe you can order a new one. I ordered mine and just checked the build sheet again just to make sure.

Have dealer order another car that is correct and also get a VIR from him.

I remember my first time ordering a car...
Did you receive a copy of the vehicle inquiry report prior to ending the conversation? How did you communicate your build? Did you add the production number to my garage on bmwusa.com? Most dealers want a build in writing and acquire signature of proof. |

When I did the build I communicated to CA that I wanted xdrive, which they actually knew from a previous built that I had did with them. In fact they brought it up before me even telling them. Also I had plenty of conversations with the sales manager about how I preferred xdrive over RWD. To the point where he tried to talk me into purchasing one off the lot but then he realized that they weren't xdrive and said "nevermind I know you don't want those because they aren't xdrive." Some of it is my fault as I overlooked it on the vehicle inquiry report and I didn't even pay attention that it didn't say it on my garage when I as tracking it until late last week. |

Yea it sucks though because now I have to start all over and go back to waiting. I originally put in a build last year first week of December after getting into an accident where I lost my previous bmw. Long story short after waiting serval months switched to a 340 build and was finally getting somewhere. but oh well

build code for XI is 203Z. VIR states 203Q. Looks like a mistake on both fronts: dealership entered wrong code, and during review you missed it. Ask the dealer to find a car that matches your specs, or order a new one that is near start of production. A suggestion would be to build the car on bmw's website and send the build code to the dealer - maybe you did that already |
