M340i Sedan Stage 3
- Torque Limiters removed
- Shiftpressure and Timing maps rescaled for high power cars
- Much firmer and faster upshifts in Sport/Sport+
- Adjusted D/Comfort shiftmaps
- Raised max. allowed RPM to 8000
- Stronger blips on downshifts
- Disabled Start/Stop (may be turned ON again through Custom Function panel in xHP)
- Sport + DSC OFF enables Race shiftmap (very late upshifting, very early down-shifting)
- Enabled ignition cut during shifts for EU cars ("Upshift-Farts")

M340i (Mild-Hybrid) Sedan Stage 3
- Torque Limiters removed
- Gear Display active in all modes
- Heavily improved shift-times
- Comfort: Medium-speed shifts, but always smooth shifting
- Sport: Medium to medium-fast shifts, depending on throttle
- Sport+: Super-Fast and intense shifting with maximum performance at all-times
- Even sharper shifting in Launch Control mode
- Unlimited amount of Launch Control starts allowed
- More natural shiftpoints for daily driving in D-Comfort
- Engine Start/Stop disabled (still active in P, may be re-enabled through custom functions)
- Sailing disabled (may be re-enabled through custom functions)
What’s sailing? And I assume when you flash your car with this, dealers can flag the car if you take it in for service?
I contacted XHP and asked them if dealers will be able to detect the flash like they can for ECU tune and they responded saying "our tunes are not detectable, we recently serviced our M4 G82 and they did read out the vehicle and found nothing. There are also no warranty issues at all." Assuming you reflash stock before bringing it into service, according to what they said it should be fine! Others have also said it's undetectable as well. Does anyone have first hand experience that can support their claim?

Took my car in for the standard check up, oil change, etc. No issues after flashing back to xhp back up stock (didn't fully remove it), no comments on the sheet, and nothing came up in terms of tampering. YMMV but I didn't have any issues.

This makes it even more tempting now.

Yea, I have a 2021 and was looking out for that rough 3-2 shift, and couldn’t replicate it. Looks like the MH guys are safe from this issue.

Really? It made quite a difference in my car. This might be a stupid question but did you reflash after adjusting the slider?

Have you tried lowering the 3-2 downshift by about 17%? I found that it made it a lot more bearable.

Hey guys. Are you guys talking about "Throttle blips M-Mode" in custom setting right? But isn't it only for Manual shift mode? I did it to all 7 to 2 gears for 25% and it only works in manual shifting mode.
I miss my stock 3-2 downshift loud popping sound not only in SP plus but in even sport mode.

Can anyone with a mild hybrid confirm the shift noises are back with a fully stock exhaust?

Yeah with stage 2 and stage 3 flash. If you want it to be more audible just adjust the tq reduction upshifts similar to this, still messing with mines but this is an example

Can someone confirm I can combine this with Mission Performance ecu tune? I have MP stage 2, want to make sure it doesn’t overwrite or conflict
In anyway. Also is the xhp blue WiFi dongle the one to get for this? Thanks

Yes, because XHP is a TCU tune. It doesn't write to the ecu.

Running MP Stage2/3 and XHP Stage 3 with no issues aside from lower mpg 😁

I used the MHD orange dongle.

I am very jealous of you now lol. I have ‘22 so no MP tune for me but I have been thinking about getting XHP.

Is your car noticeably faster and wilder with both MP and XHP tunes?

Also curious as to what your experience has been with this combo.

Any of the xHP approved dongles work for any year M340i.

The normal dealer wont be able to see this TCU tune but BMW in Munich and their engineers can see it.
That said, you wont have a problem until your drivetrain has a mailfunction and your dealer contacts BMW Munich for a replacement under warranty.
It´s the same for ECU tunes like MHD.
Even when flashed back to stock, BMW in Munich can see that you had an engine tune.

Nevertheless i´m still coding and flashing things in my car.

Has anyone figured this out? How have the Supra people gotten updates while nothing on the M340I side. Looks like lowering throttle blip solves it.. and MH systems didn't get affected by it either? Can anyone confirm how to solve, getting annoying at this point.

Supra people will always get the spotlight, feels like M340 applications/software will always be a minor concern to these companies. Happy Holidays

I actually figured it out, not sure exactly which setting did it but I kept messing around with the settings until it disappeared. If you want, shoot me a PM and I can tell you them to see if they work for you. I'll probably just end up posting them here either way so everyone else can try it too.

Are you tuned? I reached out to XHP about this and they were quite adamant that it was because I was tuned with revised torque figures to the trans and to remove the revised torque to fix this. I haven't been able to find the time to retune but worth a shot if you have the time.
