The new 4 will have diamond mesh grills.

This might tip me over to go electric. The reason I drive a F80, it is the only dual purpose sedan I like for daily/track. Might end up leasing a Model 3 Perf and get an E46 for a track car.

As ugly as this is, it will look even worse with a number plate fitted.

Give me proper lease terms, a dark green and manual and I'm in on the G80. At least now when a 330i or m340i puts lame Ebay M stripes on their grills it won't be mistaken for my big ass coffin bois.
I think some would be happy with a low mileage CPO Pcar in $80-$90k range.

There will
Be a Q button right next to the M button and grill will come out and make a small bbq for those wanting to do the tail gate parties with the AWD.

I guess I won't be buying one then. BMW just lost out on an 80k+ sale from myself and I'm sure many other prospective buyers. If even 1000 people don't buy that is an $80,000,000 loss to them!

That’s how I interpret all related answers from Scott26 here. He can’t say it straight out obviously but when I asked he answered with how the regular 4 will look instead of referring to the leaked picture. I take that as that this leak is indeed an M car. It makes sense if you look at the lip, it just look way too aggressive ( too wide, too sharp, too protruding) for a non M car.

It looks better for this particular grille design with it’s sculpted dual nose cone framing.

The # of current/future BMW models that I am interested in is approaching zero, and I have owned BMWs since 1993.
I have been here before if you can remember the E60 M5? you had people saying they won't buy it and actually some, well actually a lot did.
The M3 Coupe changeover to M4 was also controversial with I will buy M3 badges and re-badge it. And I never seen that outcome so I presume they left it as the M4?. I can name numerous examples of other BMW models that have felt the wrath of a forum.

But what we are overlooking here is that the focus is on the grille which is really revealed in a poorly shot photograph where not everything is entirely revealed.
I suggest you wait until the official photographs drop soon therefore you can finally make an impression when you see it in high definition. And of course like M2 CS the car will be going on the road so some of you might receive an invite to one of the closed rooms.

As I explained so far all you have seen is a car on a production line hidden behind a pillar and renders.
I guarantee that when you see it officially some will come round to the new interpretation of The BMW M3 but you need to see it first.
So do you think that what we're seeing there is an m3/m4, not a new 4? I'm tryin to make out what's under the hood, not sure it's an M motor ...
as someone else sad, new 4 will have mesh design grill, laso check right up corner of grill, you'll see something that resembles m3/m4 badge, because it is m3 m4 badge on grill

I want to hate it, like I did the X7 grille, but that grew on me. I honestly think it looks pretty aggressive, and unmistakably BMW. At least the kidneys aren't connected in the middle :P

It looks fine in black..

I wouldn't go as far to say that I love it but it blends in nice with a darker color and that M grille styling..
