Item Interest
I've decided to list my 2021 BMW M340i for sale. I absolutely love this car, but with the decision to start my own business, I've decided it's a luxury that I don't necessarily need right now.

Asking $60,000 OBO. The car is a lease, fyi, so payoff will need to happen in order for me to get the title.

Exterior: Portimao Blue
Interior: Cognac
Trim: Aluminum Mesh
Mileage: 8,015 (Vehicle is my daily and mileage will continue to rise)
Location: Swansea,MA 02777

Options (I've included a photo of the build sheet/window sticker below)
  • Driver Assistance Package
  • Shadowline Package
  • Parking Assistance Package
  • Premium Package
Ordered the car in spring of 2020 and took delivery almost a year ago now, to the day. I've been working from home full-time since the pandemic, hence the low miles!

While the car was originally optioned with the space saver spare tire kit, it took up too much room for my family needs (stroller and what not), so I ended up swapping it out for the regular (non-space saver) OEM trunk floor.

Includes 2 sets of floor mats, the factory carpeted mats, as well as OEM all weather floor mats (51472461168 & 51472461169). While it is my daily driver and driven year round (salt/snow), it was always garaged and washed/detailed often. Car is in excellent condition, inside and out.

Modifications
  • AA Concepts Front Lip
  • AA Concepts M Performance Style Rear Spoiler
  • ArmaSpeed Full Carbon Fiber Intake Kit
  • IND-Distribution Painted Front Reflectors
The stock rear spoiler, intake, and front reflectors will be included in the sale.

Clean car but a bit ambitious with the asking price. If you'll consider low 50's for it please message me. Remote cash buyer in Dallas. Thanks.

We can agree to disagree. The market dictates price, hence my asking price. I've had multiple dealers offer me pricing in the low $50's, which is why I'm asking what I'm asking to sell it outright.

Thanks!

More than fair price IMHO - buddy has 99% the same car as yours (miles as well) and VROOM buy price was nearly $56K here in SoCal. Considering VROOM is buying to markup and resell I think your price is very much in line with the market (at least here in SoCal)

Good luck with sale!

Close!! And I'd be willing to remove them if a potential buyer wished to save some money.

Is the lease swap an option? Can you post the lease details?

Nope, not looking to swap. I've got equity in the car with the inflated market and want to capitalize.

Why not ask for the equity in the form of a down payment?

Not positive on MA, but most likely you would need to pay sales tax on the payoff amount which will subtract $2k from that equity amount compared to a down payment on a takeover where you're free of the tax liability.

This!
You can't capitalize on your equity. Do it in the form
Of a down payment

Because there's a bit of a time crunch element here, where I have found my next daily driver and need everything to happen fairly quickly. A private party sale or selling to BMW, in my mind, are the two quickest options. At this point in time, probably going to be selling it back to the dealership where I originally leased the car, as I'd be getting $5k back from them.

Sounds like thats your best move, I don't know about Mass specifically, but in most state's you would still need to wait for BMW to do the title release. I think they're better about that now with electronic titling but could be another headache depending on your state laws and DMV.

I considered selling my Mazda in the same way but once I did the homework in what was involved between taxes and title issues for NY I was better off just trading it in to a third party but BMW closed that loop hole in the last few months.

GLWS.
