Lol and my toddler days are just starting so I have a long way to go. Curious, what do you drive now? I was very close to buying the 3 but I couldn’t justify the cost being almost the same as a 5.

Update!

After shopping around for new, thought about financing, then toyed with leasing, looked at preowned. The 3 series was a little less than the 5 series but I felt like the 5 was more comfortable. Like others have mentioned, the seats were better than the 3.

I looked at a lease yesterday for a 540i xdrive with M sport package and shadow line. They told me it would be about $1050 with $5k down and told them I had to think about it. They ended up reaching out today and offered $800 for 39 months 3k down with 12k miles. They took off around 6k and I thought it was decent. First time leasing so we will see how it goes.

Thank you everyone for chiming in and giving your 2 cents, it was much appreciated! ☺️

Congrats on the new car!! Did you do any research on leasing first so you’d understand your deal or did you just go for the payment? Leasing gives the dealer lots of ways to put lipstick on a pig of a deal.

I researched and read a lot of forums on here of leasing vs. finance. Also saw an edmunds forum where people would list the month’s MF and residuals depending on zip code. I think when I saw the numbers for purchasing a 2021 540 vs leasing a 2023, it made more sense to me. We typically switch out our cars about every 3 years but the last set of cars we kept for a year and a half. So I thought I would try out leasing to see what fits better. I hear a lot of people say after 3 years, BMWs start racking up the repair costs. Not sure how true that is now a days but a friend in the car business also mentioned that financing a 540 over 84 months was not a good idea because sedans depreciate quicker than SUVs. Who knows, I might hate the leasing, but atleast I can give it back in 3 years maybe sooner and by then Lexus will get their shit together and bring back the GS, although I doubt it 😆.

I’m glad to hear that. So many people decided leases are just too complicated to understand and just take whatever the dealer offers.

Lol I’m a little OCD and research everything. I’m the jerk that reads the contract in its entirety before signing 👩🏽‍💻.
