Alloy wheel laquer peeling
Just noticed some bad peeling on one wheel only.
Is this covered by warranty? I have one month left on my 3 years. I’m quite particular about how I clean my car so I know it’s not the product I use or how I clean them that’s the issue. |

Have you had the car from new? Could it have been previously repaired?
With my previous car I noticed the lacquer had started to turn white around the centre caps of some of the wheels. When my car had its end of warranty inspection I pointed this out. The service department weren’t going to replace it and they suggested it was probably stone damage. Clearly it wasn’t, but no point in wasting my breath. All they could offer was a refurbishment at cost. I declined and took my chances as it was a lease car. It wasn’t spotted when it was handed back. |

That looks to me like it’s been repaired, possibly after the previous owner had a run in with a kerb. The lacquer looks like it’s coming off too ‘uniform’.
I’ve had two repaired on my G21 through alloy and wheel insurance I took out when I purchased (used), only purchased through the fear and knowledge of how my Mrs parks That lacquer peel is not caused by corrosion, faulty repair IMO. |

Yes it is.
I just had a call from them. They have it on record of a wheel being refurbished before I bought the car. So it does look like a bad refurb job and that they will fix it under warranty for me. |

Good outcome! - I might contact my dealer also and see what they can do.
