These prices are cheaper than anything you can find on EBAY.

I’ve just bought a CTEK MXS 7.0 as a backup charger so I can keep one in each house.
I also bought a CTEK Battery Sense module ($79.00) which connects to your battery and allows you to monitor the performance of your battery through a Bluetooth App. Apparently, it will notify you when your battery requires a charge........as well as showing the current (pardon the pun) capacity of the battery at any given time.
Hi Steve

Long time no hear 😄

I was wondering for that Ctek sense device how did you attach those circlets to the battery terminals as I would like to buy one but not sure how the red and black cables will attach to the terminals

Thanks

If you connect to the battery, make sure the IBS is in the circuit, to ensure energy management is reading the battery condition.

I'm only talking about the Battery Sense module, not charging the battery, or are you saying that's the case as well? I'm not sure how it would matter.

Oops! I should have read more carefully. I was thinking 'charging'.

Anyone ever checked the battery voltage? I was somewhat surprised when I checked it, It was only 12.3 volt. I checked it was because the sunroof wasn't working , I wanted to eliminate the battery. Car batteries normally are 12.6 volt when fully charged.

Using a CTEK battery monitor, I can’t read the ‘actual’ voltage of my battery but the time graph shows a steady line at just under 12.5 volts. So, I’m thinking your 12.3 volt reading is very similar to mine.
Is this a characteristic of an AGM battery, I wonder?

At occasional high states of charge (on a battery charger, or while being driven), the graph peaks at 15 volts.

Are you reading this with the car unlocked and services running in the background? Or locked and asleep?

I find up to 0.4V difference with the car unlocked. Charged mine, next morning reading 12.69V from my connection lead. Unlock and the voltage drops to around 12.3V at the front 12V socket.

I used a voltmeter (calibrated, very accurate ) on the battery itself. Car unlocked ,It shouldn't make that much difference if locked or unlocked.
I load tested the battery as well to make sure she is very healthy under load.
She recovers almost instantly back to 12.3 V.

Steve the alternator will charge at about 14+ something.
I would have thought she should be about 12.7 V fully charged.

Waking up an old thread here. Will putting the CTEK - 40-206 MXS 5.0 on the terminals in the engine bay also charge the auxiliary battery that is in the engine bay as well? I'm a bit unclear which battery does what.
