Bubble gum removal

Someone has stuck bubble gum on the roof of my car.
What would be the recommended option to remove it without damaging the paint or scratching the roof?

I can’t give you a disclaimer and try at own risk. I’ve used Goo Gone on stubborn dried bird droppings many times. It does have citrus so assume slightly acidic. Also wouldn’t the gum damage the coating if it’s been stuck on for a long time?

Another thought is to use a heat gun to try to soften it back up

Before using Ice or a harsh chemical, I would use a carnuba based wax. The natural oils in carnuba are known to help remove water spots, bird droppings, tree sap and gum. I’ve used it to remove a large tree sap dot on my hood. I poured a carnuba wax I had on hand at the time (chemical guys butter wet wax) liberally, way more than what you would normally use, and let it sit for 5 mins (not in direct sunlight), patted the spot, and repeated 3 times. On the third patting, the tree sap just fell off with my gentle padding of microfiber towel.
