Oil consumption

Hello everyone,

how's your oil consumption is like? Heard it consumes oil a lot and would like to know your experience on this.
Does it depend on driving style or is it a normal thing.
Does it burn it through the exhaust or it goes to crank case etc.
Would a good catch can help out with the consumption ??

My 2020 M340 is inconsistent with it. Sometimes I get a ding telling me I need to add a couple quarts every 3-4k miles. Sometimes I don't have to add anything in between oil changes at every 5-6k miles. I do live in Miami where its hot af. Maybe that makes a difference.
