440 Vs 430 with M Package ?

Looking for inputs from those that know. Is a 430 with M package a fun car for a daily Driver ? The only BMWs I ever owned have had the B58 motor and I love that power. With todays driving and My advanced age I wonder if 430 is enough. Any inputs will be considered as advice only.

Yes. 430i is enough. A fantastic daily driver. The car is fast, very fast. And amazingly balanced and light in the corners. Handles and accelerates like a much smaller car. Just amazing. The greatest BMW I’ve ever owned. It’s fantastic.

Mine is 2024, M-Sport, RWD, Adaptive M Suspension, and someone who knows how to configure and utilize the various sport modes as a point of reference.

If you’re familiar with the B58, the 4 cylinder in the 430 will disappoint in my opinion.

Before buying an M340, I test drove a 330 and M440 back to back. After 15 minutes in the 330 I was ready for the test drive to end. After 15 minutes in the M440, I didn’t want the drive to end.

The best thing you can do is go test both and see if you’re ok with the lower power of the B48. If you’ve already gotten used to the B58, though, I think you will find that going to the B48 will be disappointing.

I love my 430i M Pk, but I came from a 2013 328i. Mine has more than enough power but I suspect if I drove a M440 I would want a B58 motor.

I think OP's 2018 240i is with a 335HP/36lb-ft B58, it is best to test drive both 430i M-sport and M440i with high-power B58 to compare.

I think if you had a B58 and then went to the 4cyl, you'll feel like something is missing.

I owned two BMWs with the B58. I didn't need its power - the 4cyl has plenty of that for me - but there was no replicating the B58's sound, so that's why I optioned it. Zero regrets; it's an amazing engine.

Use YouTube if you don't feel like test driving.
