M340i LCI wing mirrors

Has anyone looked into retro fitting the new LCI wing mirrors onto a pre-LCI

I know you can get replacement caps off eBay etc but are they the same fit and do they look OEM ?

I’d be tempted to get some for my pre LCI M340i, assuming they’d fit, but not for $400+

I just ordered a set of aftermarket caps from AutoID which should fit to the pre LCI mirrors.

I rang them and they explained that the "on car" pictures are not correct as they are not the G80 M Style.

I should get them in the next couple of days and will post some pics.

Without this the only option is aftermarket ones.

I tried and returned several aftermarket ones as they were noit fitting correctly (or at all in some cases) but then got lucky on Ebay with a pair of brand new OEM M4 Mirror Caps for £80.

Once the old caps are removed, the old supporting ring can be swapped for the new one.

It's the angles and you have to be extra careful doing that area (and in the car body next to it ) as the extra prong reduces access.

I like only one side of the sponge to touch the car at a time, and these "fisting" mirrors mean that area takes about 2-3x longer to wash properly and safely.

I’m not getting any wind noise from mine (standard on the LCI), but I find they interfere with a-pillar vision when taking tight corners - personally wouldn’t have chosen them if they weren’t already fitted.

I want to get the m340i LCI mirrors but im sure if they are a perfect fit on my normal 3 series LCI. Does anyone know if they would fit perfectly?
