The F90 Competition first drives are coming out now, so I'm thinking we'll see the G20 reviews today as well. I'm going to be here refreshing this thread all day!

I wouldn't mind to pay more for an M3.

But I live in northern Canada, can't get around here in a RWD car. Not happening. Even with studded tires.

I guess Spider-Man was incredibly excited when he spotted the new 3 series just before Scott did

15 to 20 percent better fuel economy, extra torque, near instant stop start re-starts to name a few benefits.

Basically it’s 2/3 as good as a full hybrid but at 1/3 the price.

I know, I'm just joking, kidney brows will never come back (nor should they). It seems that the X7 has similar camo wrap at the top of the kidneys like the G20 prototypes and they released some photos from the production line. It seems that the reason is because the top of the kidney grilles block off the intake/don't allow air to pass through (the flat surface at the top of the grille), but I doubt it will be noticeable

I'm not completely sure if my points are correct, but I believe these are the biggest reasons. It helps with very low end torque/turbo lag, and provides a solution to annoying stop start systems (especially as BMW is continuing to make them stay on unless coded out), allowing the car to use the 48V system as a starter and allow it to come off of a stop more gracefully than current start stop systems.

Mercedes uses a 48V electric turbo in the new inline 6 as well.

Basically the electric turbo can spool up without using exhaust gasses using only stored electrical power so you don't have as much lag I think is the idea.

Also it is amazing to me the priorities of magazines.

we have like 20 M5 competition reviews.... a car a tiny number of people can even afford that is just barely different from a normal M5, but the G20 3 series a car that I'd imagine tons of people would want more about.... the reviews have to wait until after they are done with rehashed "its an M5 but a little more expensive" reviews.

Sunday was the embargo, so maybe they’re waiting to put the G20 reviews in the next magazine publication, which for UK Autocar & Auto Express is tomorrow (Tuesday), so they sell a load of mags!

A 'modern' interpretation of the e46 maybe?

Every car on the road uses a 12V battery and system (except for some big trucks). How often have you heard of 46V batteries and battery chargers? Good luck finding one. No more running accessories off of any part of wiring in the car. There will have to be a separate system for 12v outlets.

You can also be electrocuted by 46V systems. No more handling bare wires with your hands. Will require protection at all times when doing wiring repairs or even testing.

The 48v system isn't instead of the 12v system, it is in addition to it!

Think MightyMouseTech should stick to cleaning the balls from 80s mice than commenting on battery technology
