It is fully insured. Just waiting for cops to finish up the police report. 10 days for them to try and recover the car then the insurance company will give me what my car is worth. If it's gone I might look into a 340.

Sounds like you left the keys in the car. They tried to get mine one night when my wife left the car unlocked. They look to see if the mirrors are folded in and if not they do a quick search. Good thing there were no keys in my car but they were in and out within 10 seconds. My security camera picked them up and alerted me. Long story short but I went after them which was not the smartest thing I should have done. I knew the second I heard my security camera go off around midnight what was happening. I looked on the camera and was watching in real time as they were in my car. It took me a couple seconds before it registered and then I went off. There were 4 guys and 3 of them were scattered at my neighbors houses. You can watch the video below. The other videos are me running after them with a bat and then turning around after they jumped in the car and yelled I better have something other than a bat.

This is crazy and exactly how my incident looked. How did you post that? My files are always too big. They were in and out quickly. I must have done it, but it's weird because I never do that. This car was new, and I probably got too used to the walk-away-and-it-locks feature.

Just a link to the video on my Onedrive account. Really sorry about your car as that is terrible. I'll post the link a little later of me back tracking to my house bat in hand after they jumped in the car and rolled toward me.

Edit: Here is the vid after they jumped in the car and yelled some shit at me. You can see the car in the top right start to slowly roll. Commonsense finally kicked in.

This is mine. Ring missed it. They must have jammed up the ring system some how because the car just vanished. Here one minute then gone the next. Our other security cameras caught the whole thing though.

Did you look for your keys? Are they missing?

These days, with the correct electronics, they wont need a key to steal your car.

Was its GPS locator on? You might be able to track where it is from my BMW app if they did not turn it off.

I'm pretty sure the key goes to sleep and stops transmitting after no movement is detected. I don't see how a relay attack would work in this situation unless the key fob was active at the time

Nationally auto theft recovery has around a 46% success rate, odds are not in your favor. Honestly, you may be happy it doesn't come back considering what type of condition the car's in as God know's what been happening to it since it was taken. Being central NJ could easily end up in NYC/Philly. I live near Philly and amount of stolen vehicles used in the city for crimes and then just dumped is crazy. If it was taken taken by a more sophisticated thief if they try to ship it it could get caught at the port on it's way out. If it does end up overseas, it could easily end up in Africa as many do.

You wouldn't regret the M340i, best daily driver i've ever owned.

Yeah I've given up on it at this point. I've been looking around and came across a nice m440i with adaptive suspension and laser light. Great spec in dravit gray. I wanted a 340 from the start but this 440 is beautiful. Which one handles best?

It depends on what you want, I never drove a 440i but it's heaver and slightly larger so i can't imagine that would make it handle better, i personally hate the grille and always have, but that's a whole different topic lol. when i think of the 3 and 4 series i always personally just think of the 3 as more of a sporty choice and 4 series as more of a GT cruiser vehicle. I'd compare reviews online before you buy. Car and Driver in the best compact luxury car segment seems to favor the three series over the four series. With the 3 coming in first place and the 4 series gran coupe coming in fourth place and the coupe/convertible in ninth.
