G20 diy repairability going forward
I am currently a 2012 F11 owner which I have ran for about 8 years,
I am considering a change to a G20 model, having enjoyed for many years never having to rely on dealers for diagnostics and being able to code replacement used parts etc using all the tools and guides available from this forum I would like to know if going forward home repair will still be possible on the g20 series or has BMW locked software etc down so much that it is no longer possible Thanks |

The G20/G21 is far more reliable then a F10/F11. I've owned over 20 BMWs in 24 years included a 2015 F10 535i. This is the first most reliable out of all of them. And like dhock_holiday stated these are very coding friendly. Parts are plentiful.
