Other than that not noticed anything radical. The main updates are Android auto, Apple and google maps (not waze) now working in HUD, steering wheel heating coming on when set to a certain temp.

Received the update to 07.2020.25 from the dealer today. Car was in the shop to deal with the infamous ”Driver assistance systems restricted” error (which seems to be fixed by the update).

del82s summary is pretty comprehensive. So some remarks on Android Auto (I'm using a Samsung S20):

• Integration is pretty good and responsive. E.g. moving/zooming on Google Maps is fast with virtually no loading times. Touch entry feels almost too sensitive at times.
• The digital dash & HUD show turn by turn directions but no map for Google Maps.
• Physical buttons work as expected. The iDrive buttons trigger the appropriate AA app. So e.g. hitting Map brings up Google Maps. Pressing the Power/Mute button pauses Spotify or other music apps, while spoken instructions for route guidance continue.
• Google Assistant and Hey BMW work nicely together at the same time.
• The fastest way to exit AA is by pushing the iDrive Home button.

Overall pretty good! If BMW would now finally fix the digital key compatibility issue with the S20 ...

For parking garages or gated communities where you have to enter a code or anything similar perhaps? Although I agree I would still just open manually when needed. It's not like you have to go deep in iDrive menus for it.

no warning about the car not able to turn on while this update was in progress i got stuck at cosco holding the line at the pump for 35 minutes

Reset iDrive by holding down the volume button for 70 seconds, engine running. It'll restart once, keep hoping down until it resets the second time.

I had the same problem and it seems to be quite common. It appears that the update won't start unless the battery charge level is sufficient. Despite going for a couple of long drives, the update still didn't start installing. I ended up getting a trickle battery charger as per advice from this forum, and the installation was completed after the battery was topped up.

I have a Z4 G29 and 2 days ago my ConnectedDrive app started to download update 11/2019.55. Yesterday I transfer it to the car and then started to Upgrade. When finished, idrive rebooted and then booth app and car gave this amazing message.
Now the car don't start. I called BMW assistance but they said they are a towing and a mechanical service. For software problems the car has to go to the dealer.

So, carefull with that update !

I've had that happen a few times too. Got excited an thought it was the July update but as far as I've seen, people have only received it via dealer service and not OTA yet.
