What if my new 2020 G20 is recalled?

I am picking up my 2020 G20 330i xDrive this Saturday. In the event a vehicle is recalled due to this old recall:

what happens? Does BMW just buy back the car? Or do they just replace the recalled parts and the labor?

Are you purchasing new, from a dealer? If so, it likely wouldn't be sold with an open recall.

Why would they buy back the car? Like any recall, they fix it and you move on.

Reason why I ask is because while I've been shopping for the car, I was also looking at used F30's and quite a bit of them were factory buy backs after recalls or issues so was curious what would happen in this scenario.

Then don't worry about it. Like I said, generally speaking new cars will not be sold with any open recalls. You can always ask the dealer prior to taking delivery, for a bit more peace of mind.

Enjoy your new car!

You can also enter your VIN here and check for recalls.
