MY 21 48V M340i tuning

I wonder how the updated mild-hybrid B58 will work with the current tuning options.

I've heard the JB4 is compatible, not sure on the flash tunes but I imagine they have maps for them as well.

Has it been confirmed that the '21 M340i will get the mild hybrid?

I just saw it on the BMW official site. It's no faster and produces no more hp, is it just to smooth out the auto start/stop?

I just checked the USA website and it's so confusing....

If you check here: https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3-se...-features.html

it says this:

3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder, 24-valve 335-hp engine with eBoost 48V mild hybrid technology. Combines a twin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection

However if you go to the specifications tab it says 382hp which is what the M340i should have instead of 335hp...

If it's true that the 2021 M340i has a mild hybrid system I wonder if it's just for the eboost when launching or if there is actually more power or better start/stop.

Where do you see that it says 335hp? It says 382hp under the specifications tab, which is correct.

Not sure if that’s a mistake because this article that’s the output for the diesel and whether the petrol engine will have more...

Other than for the diesel variants, I can find no independent source of information on this for the M340i B58. Can't believe there aren't at least 15 bloggers writing about this yet!

Considering I've got a new M340i on order and my CA (and his store manager) don't know the answer to this, I'm getting a little curious. 🤔

Don’t think the hybrid system affects hp or can help with acceleration

Is this the EU HP rating? US has slightly higher in the MY 20 M340 and wouldn't be surprised if this applied to the new M440 too.

Thought it's already been confirmed both the M340 and M440 in US will have the 382 figure? Don't see why they'd change that

Haven't rear view cameras been mandatory for a few years now in US?

Wonder if this means the ASS button will be removed, as well. Man I hope there's some way to disable it even with the mild hybrid system. If not, guess I'll be driving in Sport+ 24/7 (as if I wasn't already going to!).

48V mild hybrid is clearly confirmed now on bmwusa.com (link below). I've also seen some dealers' listings of 2021 MY vehicles described as 48V mild hybrids.

Greater power, greater efficiency.
The 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine is further enhanced with the new 48V mild hybrid technology, which delivers heightened eBoost power while optimizing efficiency.

But what's that button in place of the ASS on/off switch?

EDIT: Just noticed "HYBRID" and "ELECTRIC" mode buttons. W.T.F.?!?!?

EDIT EDIT: My bad on the picture. That's the 330e. Whew.
