I was offered 10% off MSRP before incentives without difficulty on a 40i, but they told me only 5% off on a M50i. |

Wow, 15% off delivered?!? That sounds like a great deal. Haven't signed the paperwork in my order, just left the deposit. Might have to hammer them a bit for a lower price.

Right now, deals are better on 40i. Dealers are running low on M50i allocations. Most brokers are offering 11-12% on 40i and 10% on M50i before incentives.

Phenomenal deal. I got around 6% off MSRP then incentives of $4,000, so overall close to 10%. Dealer wasn't a high volume dealer and I had a trade in (2019 Volvo XC90), so didn't have much leverage. We could have played the numbers game where they gave me 10% off MSRP, but then they would just add it back in by giving me a lower trade-in price. I get a tax break on the sales price based on the amount of my trade-in, so that helps. I know some states don't do this. I probably left some money on the table, but I'm happy with the overall out the door price. |

I got my M50 almost two months ago but have been following the market for them since Feb this year. I do think people should set realistic expectations and 15% before incentives on an order is not very realistic IMO. I’ve also followed Dan’s (Next Level Auto) deals on LeaseHackr and never have I seen him advertise 15%. Perhaps he found a unicorn but the best these days that I’ve seen was around 11% (though I do highly recommend him either way if you don’t want to do the negotiating yourself). I got lucky with 11.5% but I also negotiated that back in May and just waited for the car. These days allocations are a bit tighter and the M50s are in higher demand and dealers know that... not saying it’s impossible but know that if you get 15% before incentives you should take it immediately.

I get a good otd price when factoring trade-in and stellar vip treatment. I am picky as hell with the specs I want which is usually fully loaded which never is on any dealers lots anywhere. Me personally, I won’t nickel and dime my only local dealer with all other factors considered. How good the spec of the M50i is will greatly affect the discount. Get a less that optimal spec and you will have some room to work with.
We have seen some of these strange optioned vehicles missing crucial options at this price point and those are the only ones I see online being advertised with higher dealer discounts. I generally have in my head what the deal I am looking for when car shopping and they know that and won’t insult me as they know what I should be paying. I have purchased 3 new high spec BMW’s in the last 16 months. I am a long term player and they want to sell me 10 more BMW’s. I will say the M50i in either X5 or X7 are extremely rare in my area to the point you won’t haggle much compared to a 40i. They sold maybe 3 combined compared to 25+ 40i specs. When a M50i comes in, it goes immediately in the show room. They don’t need to move it fast or heavily discount it. At this point they sold as many X5M this year as they did M50i. They currently have 3 of the new 440i’s, 2 M8’s and a M8GC. 8 series are not moving even at a heavy discount and 7 series cars are dead in my area. Last edited by MystroX5; 10-26-2020 at 06:35 PM.. |

Many of the dealers in the NJ area have very lightly M50i's (ie. minimal options and vernasca leather) that they were willing to deal on, but all of the ones I talked would only go 5-6% on the M50i, I didn't really push too much as I wasn't in the market for that vehicle. The best I could do over the phone was 10% before incentives off on the 40i at 3 dealers....I went with the one the gave me the most on my trade. The only way I see getting 15% off (which is below cost) is on an in stock vehicle, and the dealer needing to move those last couple units at the end of the month. I got 17.5% off sticker on my Audi S5 in 2018 under that scenario (which was unheard of at Audi at the time). |

The 15% off preincentive post will give dealers a hard timeThe best deal found from west coast 10-11% off preincentive with mf markup to max. Better deal might be found from stock which less equipped with sticker lower than $110k. Guess all M50 buyers prefer more options. From I can tell, folks here check all packages and options when submit a build order

I am sorry, I mis-quoted it was 10% before incentive, sorry for the confusion, this was when I started back in April...than purchased in July since 2020 was hard to come by with the options that I wanted.

I'd imagine 15% is easily do able with 20% possible but hard to find.

8-9% off dealer discount is the going rate at aggressive dealers. Most will be 0-5% off which isn't a deal at all.
NB: base MF of .00082 finance at 1.9% up to 60 months |
