The seats are not actually cooled, they are just vented. There is a fan that circulates the air form under the seats through the perforations, so how cold the air will be depends on the temperature in the cabin.

I have it on my G30 and I too am in the Ft Lauderdale area. It does help a little, but is not worth it as a standalone option. The only reason I got it was because I wanted the massage seats and it was part of that package.
