Puddle lights don’t come on when backing up
I noticed that the lights on the door handles don't turn on when reversing on the G20. My F30 did this and it helps especially with the 360 view camera. Is there a reason BMW doesn't do this now?
I know with the newer headlights the inner beams close to the kidneys will turn on in both sides but it doesn't directly illuminate the side of the vehicle. |

I wonder if it has anything to do with the welcome carpet, which I think is now projected by the door handle lights? Could get distracting when using the surround view cameras?

On the G20 I believe the light carpet is from a light on the bottom of the sill.. Around the area behind the front wheels and front doors.

Yup.The light carpet is on the bottom of the sill. If you stick your feet at the bottom of the sill near the mirror you can block the light.

The F30 was much brighter seeing the ground when entering my narrow garage opening. Maybe I will eventually figure out how to tweak the settings.
