To check software version, on iDrive, select CAR, SETTINGS, GENERAL, scroll all the way to bottom, REMOTE SOFTWARE UPDATE, then you should see software version as 1st line on screen

I won't upgrade for this reason alone. I read that some people experience the reduction while others do not. I can't seem to get a straight answer so I am holding off.

Got the update in the beginning of the week. Landed at 650Mb and took a few minutes to download to the phone, afterwards it was transferred to the car. Update took 20 minutes to complete and the car needs to be completely stopped.

Android Auto is now available but I use an iPhone thus I was not able to test it.
The only change that was relevant to test was the turn-by-turn in the cluster but it only works with Apple Maps and not with GMaps or Waze.

Tomorrow I'll be picking up mine and as this will be a pure pick-up without explanation (covid) I had a question regarding battery efficiency. I looked around and I think I saw the question but not an answer: I know when you navigate you can put it in hybrid adaptive where it will look at the route and determine the most efficient way on when to engage the battery or engine. Does this also work with Google maps while using Android auto?

Hi there,

I have an EU 330i and after the software update the sound coming through the speaker seems to have gone down. Anyone have noticed something similar. This is really annoying since i dont get any burbles o pops coming from the exhaust.

I’m on that phone and not had any problems, I’m afraid. Might just need to reboot the cars infotainment and the phone. See if that helps.

US 2020 m340 here. Just got the notification today and updated to 7/2020 via OTA. Happy to report, no change to exhaust note (had same concern as many on here). Only issues are: Android Auto not showing up yet (though I've read everyone's comments that it tends to show up after a few days or so) and a random vertical line in the camera view when you turn on the parking assist camera (not a big deal but i believe others have mentioned the same).

Overall, 7/2020 is an upgrade from 3/2020 which rendered most Connected Drive features useless on my car for 10 months - no apps, no carplay, 360 view of car on phone app never worked, couldn't send addresses to the car from app, app said i was overdue for state inspection and oil change even though that was not true and the car stated correct dates. Clearly a disconnect between car and app in 3/2020 software. I even tried every which way to fix with bmw assist, genius, etc. to no avail. Next step was complete reset at dealer but luckily update came today and fixed aforementioned issues.

Went to dealer for a side mirror issue. Got 11/20.45 as part of the fix. It did take 3 days for it appear in the car. Have to spend some time next day off trying it out

I have a Sept 19 M330i & it is still on 07/2019 & says no update available. I have topped up the battery but still nothing

I have no idea if the 7/2020 update changed the exhaust other than to change the iDrive7 exhaust sound feature. If it agitates me, I will just go after market or get an MPE. People say you need to break in the exhaust and at 1200 miles+ it will change. I am skeptical.

I can tell you I brought her in for the AMP issue that everyone seems to have with the newer cars and they pushed 11/2020.xx on me. No idea what that changed other than all my settings were back to default. Pisses me off they do that. So far BMW service is severely lacking compared to my other experiences.
