Actually most journalists haven't liked the G20's steering either. They just say it's better than the outgoing model but is still a weakness of the car.

True, but it's not like the S4 or C43 have amazing steering either (the S4 is WAY too light and the C43 seems a bit washed out). They are all a bit numb relative to older generations.

The problem isn't just the lack of feedback but the racks just don't feel natural in how they build resistance or effort. The weighting also gets worse as its goes to sportier modes. I found with my M2 that the best mode was comfort and even that was only "okay."

Yeah exactly. None of these cars are as sporty as they should be, but I expect better from BMW.

I recently drove a C43 through some high speed twisty roads near Monterey and the car sort of fell apart. The steering, while somewhat weighted, was incredibly vague. The chassis did not feel planted and the vehicle felt very heavy. Funny thing is this E90 328i was sprinting through those turns with all the confidence in the world.

The C43 definitely feels more at home cruising on the highway.
