3 months??? that's a long wait time? Did you wait for a month after you placed an order and before the production beings?

How long did it really take from the day Production got started until the delivery?
Yeah about that, I placed my order in July 12th, which happens to be the time when MY20's are out and allocations for MY21 are started to pop up here and there. My local dealership is very small in scale and it took a whole month to secure an allocation for production. And then I got delayed for every possible stage of the production process. Next thing I know it's already late October . Still, glad it's here and glad that I gave up my initial Tanzanite German build. Otherwise I won't see my car until February next year I guess lol.

Wow 4 months???? I was thinking 3 months is already a long wait. How many days did it actually take from the day production got completed until you received your car?

Reason i'm asking is I placed an order for my car on 12Sep & Production started on 15Sep and completed on 30Sep. From 01Oct until now the status of my car is Ready for Transportation (but in actual the car is physically on the Port waiting for the Ship).
The production itself is no longer than a week. "Ready for transport" was a painful stage as it took more than three weeks. Once it is in transport, there's another 20 days or so to reach the dealership depending on where you live and which VPC the vehicle is going to be drop off at.

Sits at the port in Mexico waiting for a boat for about 2-3 weeks. Then about 15-20 days to get from mexico to the port.

I'll let you know, once I get the car! Should be picking it up at the end of the week.

To answer your question, I had to look back and find it. But my car went into production on 8/20. So it's looking like it'll be just over 2 months from into production to taking delivery. Not awful, but man have I had to deal with some shit.

I placed my order back in June for a 2020, and waited over a month and a half until my first production number/slot (which ended up being a 2021) got delayed (Germany build). I was then assigned a 2nd production number/slot (Mexico build), and I'm still waiting for that. At least it looks like it's only a matter of days for me at this point.

How long does it usually take for a car to get from the VPC to the dealer? My car was released from the Brunswick VPC on the 15th. The VPC is <300 miles away from my dealer.

Starting to get suspicious that something went wrong on the delivery or the car.

What does your dealer say? They have some visibility into the status once the car is offloaded at the port.

For those waiting for a ship from Altamira to Baltimore, the next scheduled ship is the Freedom. It will arrive in Altamira early tomorrow morning and leave around midnight tomorrow night. Arrives in Baltimore on 11/1, with stops in Brunswick and Charleston along the way. It's a Wallenius ship so the cargo can likely be tracked on their site.

The system said it was released from VPC and that it was supposed to be there yesterday.

Doesn’t look like it’s showing up today either. Tomorrow will be 6 days since it was released from the VPC that is only 250 miles away from the dealer.

Has this happened to anybody else?

Can you determine the trucking company it was released to? Perhaps you can reach out to them to see where the car is and what the ETA is.

In the past my dealer was able to contact the trucking company to find out where the truck was.

Just asked and he said it was in South Carolina, which seems weird.

I guess part of it is that I just don’t trust my dealer lol. I don’t think he’s in office and probably stalling so he doesn’t lose credit for the sale. Just a hunch but I got a feeling I won’t get the car until next week or whenever he’s in the office.

I supposed if they were picking up X3's on the way, but a long way to go from Brunswick to AL. A week is not at all unusual for deliveries to Minnesota, we are a long ways from all VPC's. Also, in case you think your day sucks more than some, we have gotten about 5 inches of snow today. In October. Not typical, but whatever. Lots of people out there with their summer tires on. Good luck with the car and your dealer.
