I wouldn't worry about it, should be a simple motor to open and close the shutters.

The top 1/4 of the grill is solid/permanently blocked the remainder of the grill has active shutters which actually reside just behind the grill.

I looked it up a while back and I think the electric shutter assembly (separate from the exterior facing grille) is about $250.

I wonder if it's possible to just do an active shutter delete and put in the M Performance grille from the 330i. I bet that would look a LOT better.

Wow! That's interesting!! One day before I pickup!!! Care to elaborate?

Handling?
Acceleration?

Road presence??

Did you get ANY thumbs while driving!?!?!?!
I hope you're not worried about getting a bunch of thumbs up in this car. It looks great and would likely be a great daily, but not really a thumbs up kind of car. Not even the F80s were.
I was considering waiting on the M340 but got impatient and factory ordered a 540i. After seeing the grill and other things like the new digital dash I'm feeling not too impressed. Glad I didn't wait.

Can't go wrong with the new 5 series as a daily. They're fantastic.

Probably cheaper to just have the current one properly painted.

Definitely a Canadian car. They're the only ones who can order the shadowline trim package right now.

Canadians let their CA's unwrap their clients' cars???

Comes off anyways during the PDI/detail process, so anyone can do it really - delivery specialist, salesperson or detailer. They don't leave any plastic/wrap on (especially not the ones on the exterior) unless told by client.

You don't have to worry about it. The grille is separated from the air shutter. Look it up on realoem.com

You just replace the outter part, the grill. You don't replace the inner part, active air shutter.

I'd be inclined to only allow the detailer to touch my car. Delivery & salesmen are not paid for their fine motor skills!
If you think I'm too picky about this matter: ever watch a salesman use a razor blade to scrape off an old decal versus an experienced detailer/ mechanic?
Many years ago I held my breath as my Dodge salesman almost poked a hole in his hand trying to screw on my new tags!

I understand but something like peeling off wrap which requires no skill or tools isn't that big of a deal. At least to me. For all I know, a lot guy took off all the exterior wrap on all my cars to inspect for any damage on delivery.

I don't know. That guy in the video was putting in some aggressive nails against the corner of that wrap. Lol

We better get this is package in the states ASAP . It looks so much better blacked out as opposed to the cerium grey. If not IND is going to make a killing on all these parts lol . Now all it needs is the M performance black grill from the 330i and were golden.
In your opinion. Too many people on this forum who think their tastes are the be all and end all. It especially is unfortunate when there is an article on someone's new ride and they say "it's nice but..." learn some tact people!
Obviously it's my opinion , I posted it mate lol. You should read some of my prior posts you got the wrong dude. I just want this package in the states, is all. BMW should let us, the consumer choose. Black shadowline trim is nothing new, and Canada has it. So why don't we. It'll make life alot easier for those of us who want the blacked out looked, without individually changing them. I'm starting to think it won't ever be offered in the US , even port install or M accessories catalog. If it was going to, it would have been by now. But hope I'm wrong, my car hits port state side in a few weeks. Honestly I'm not even that opposed to the cerium grey pieces. It actually blends in quite nicely with my Dravit Grey exterior. It's more so the grill design on the m340i.

No, I can do without the added attention..., and I was kinda being facetious with that one. But, in my area, I did get the occasional thumbs up from other M drivers, as well as non-M...
Even in Germany where BMWs aren't really a big deal, my AY F82 would attract attention. Shortly before I sold it, I was in Regensburg and parked by the Hauptbahnhof. Went into the mall and when I came back there were about 6 people standing around it. Parking lot anxiety is really a thing.

Additionally, I had a few occasions when kids pointed in excitement at my car while they were talking to each other. On several occasions people would come up to me and ask if I was I Nuremberg or Munich over the weekend because they saw my car. In my area there were only two AY M4s and the other had the CF roof.

It's fun, I don't get that in my G01. Which is what I was going for.

I’m with you it’s ridiculous. So a Canada car being built next to a US car but can’t get same grill and mirrors. I think I can live with the grill. I want black or body color mirror caps. Cerium next to Mineral Gray is just gross.
