Yep the slats open in the UK too! and not even that hot here.. especially in Yorkshire! ))

Tried pulling 203 out and dropped the damn fuse puller into the wheel arch. It’s gone forever in the deep abyss

I’m going to buy a new puller and see if I can get the fuse out without dropping this one into the arch as well.

I started the car using remote start and made sure the grill was open. Pulled fuse 203. Checked up front and grill was still open. Went for a drive with the fuse in my pocket. No CEL. Came back home. Parked the car and turned it off. Checked up front and the grill was closed. So I plugged 203 back in.

Appreciate you giving this a shot... I inquired at my dealership & they were worthless in helping me understand the fuse map (which is also a worthless document IMHO.) I'll keep trying & post when I locate an answer. Thanks again.

A little off topic, but why do you want to leave it open? I imagine having it closed / open supports the engine bay remaining in an ideal operating temperature?...

For me, it's because I want to see how the car looks with it open all the time. That's all. I'll probably put the fuse back in after a while.
