Will going 235 front, 255 rear be a bad decision?
Editing this post to ask a different question.
I will be purchasing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires to put on my factory staggered 19 inch wheels. Basically I want to know if going to 235 /40 / 19 on the front while keeping the 255 / 35 / 19 in the rear will cause any issues. I want the fronts to look a little meaner and fill the wheel well a bit more. I was considering a 235/265 setup but it seems from everything I have read that the 265 on the 8.5 inch wheel isn’t the greatest idea. Any opinions on this with Michelin pilot sport 4s specifically? Concerns seem to be tire bulge, although I’m not sure how these tires are in that regard. The Bridgestones currently on already look a little bulgey with 255 Hopefully someone can weigh in on this. Max I've seen in the front from online research is 255 but the goldilocks zone seems to be in the 235/245 range
Largest rear tire width I've seen has been 295 but the quality zone seems to be in the 265/275 range In regard to sidewall, it depends if you're leaving stock height or lowering since you will just be increasing the gap between your wheel and fender if you go decrease sidewall and don't lower the car. Whether or not it's worth it is entirely up to you and how you're going to use the car - if you plan to daily drive it and that's it, might not be worth the added cost. |

I'm a total newb, but I want a more aggressive square summer setup for my 2019 330xi without any other mods like lowering. Any suggestions? I'm seeing a lot of setups that will require spacers and I'd rather stay in the 20 range for offset and not use spacers (factory offset for what I have is 25). Not even sure how this all would look...

255 is the max width recommended for 8.5J rim by all experts in tyre / wheel / vehicle mfg. They know what they're talking about and thus the advice should be respected. Especially when tyres are the only point of contact with the road.
If your aim is to have the wheels sit flush with the body work - spacers are what you'll need. If you want to eliminate the gap between tyre and wheel arch then you'll need to lower the car. |

Interesting, so I could run 4x 245/40/19's on my 19x8 wheels? or that may impact my speedometer too much?
here's a link I found that ( answered my question above) shows how changing the stock tire sizes affect the speedometer, diameter, revs per mile etc. Pretty nifty calculator which has helped me decided that 235 is the ideal size I need for my purpose. https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc...0r19-235-40r19

Keep in mind that the factory tires are paired with the suspension and generally set up for the vehicle to be neutral in the handling department with a slight understeer. There is nothing wrong with going a few sizes wider in the front to help the car come around better. I'm currently running a 255/35/19 PS2 upfront and have no issues what so ever. Car handles like it's on rails. |

It took me a month to figure out the what's the most aggressive you can go on this car. I'm speaking from the x drive perspective
On the front: max width 9.0 for wheels and 245/40 for tires For rear: 9.5 wheels and 265/35 for tires

I highly discourage going with PS4's in the winter. Buy a second set of wheels with summer tires and run the OEM runflats in the winter. |

Here are some ones I took a few weeks back. The black spokes don't show up very well in the photos FYI

That looks great, nice choice in wheels! Are those AZENIS FK510? I'm lowered on HR springs, are you lowered as well? Hard to tell with angles. I'm wondering if I'll rub with the extra width.
