From the Future BMW model information thread:

• G20 3 Series, G22 4 Series, G23 4 Series Convertible, ICE G26 4 Series Gran Coupe, and G42 2 Series will get a new interface/infotainment/communications package, including the dash we will first see in i4.
• G20 will get it for LCI in 07/22, G42 in 08/22, G22, G23, and G26 in 03/23.
• No other existing model seems to be slated for that interface.

Hopefully they at least add customizable gauge clusters for the new screens, so many people have been requesting this for quite some time!

I'm not a fan of how this looks so tacked on and unintegrated. Let's hope they clean it up and integrate it to the dash design a bit better before production.

MB moving away from this setup and BMW is picking it up. I prefer the current layout of the 2 separate sections

It will still likely receive the updated iDrive that is coming with the BMW "i" electric models regardless of whether it has a connected screen or not. I'm thinking maybe they want to differentiate the 2 and 3 interior more since the 2er spy shots look almost like a copy and paste of a 3er interior.

I really despise Mercedes’ screen.
Why BMW lacks so much originality later?
Why trying to come up with an Audi-esque huge grill when it doesnt work in dual setting, why copying a Mercedes “wall” -ugly like shit- dashboard?
Where is the fricking originality BMW had in the past?
Where is that uniqueness of this brand?

And that angular graphic of the display is ugly.
I am glad I bought an X4 and an M340i (couldn’t accept the new M3 design) as none has that grille and this display but boy, I have the feeling I am moving elsewhere if this Damage Dukec will still be in charge, because I will definteley not buying that grille and this dashboard...

At least we still get M models and a manual M3, we should be greatful if anything for still getting M, AMG and RS models.

I'm more concerned about the face part of the face-lift.
