Whilst a "M" is better than a non-M, the fact is it still hurts looking at the new direction BMW is heading in

Looks a bit weird. Final judgment when I see final production version and when it's on

This is exactly why I bought the M2 CS because I think it is going to be the last proper BMW that BMW is likely to make in for like ever

The Tesla tech is amazing and it goes crazy fast in a straight line. But kinda boring for me.

Hopefully they integrate it into the dash like Audi do rather than the Benz style.
And please no more touch screens, they are tacky & have been proven to be a dangerous driver distraction. More shitty cost cutting.

If you don't like the change deal with it but if your way of dealing with it is commenting negativity on everything BMW releases because you got hurt by the company then you ain't being that much of a help now are you. This new tech is probably gonna be good for the cars in the long run by being able to apply OTA updates makes cars less useless because if the next infotainment system demands you to buy a complete new car then i am glad BMW is going down the road of more high tech development of their cars in terms of both infotainment/gauge clusters etc... In the end there is brand out there for people who likes nostalgic stuff and the good old times as some would say and its Porsche, they haven't changed the 911 sens 1962 so there is a place for those "Enthusiast" I'm exited to finally see BMW daring to make changes in the way as it does. They are willing to change and adapt to new markets witch is what a company should do to survive and attract new customers even if some of the old ones gets hurt a long the way (again more of a you issue so to speak). And as it has been stated so many times this far the sales outcome will determine BMW's fate the coming years and their decisions they made up until this point and the release of the new cars for purchases and until people gets their hands on the cars. Then we shall se if it was a good strategy or not. If not then simply change the design again to what it was and the problem is solved but if you then don't want to buy it after that then you weren't much of a "Enthusiast" to begin with now were you? If they drive as good as BMW is claiming it will, if you read beyond all the talks about the grills and the nonsense regarding that and the hofmeister kink you would think i they would have killed of Mr Wilhelm Hofmeister himself who died at least 40 years ago or so. And that tells a lot of the people clinging to the old kink, then other then that i think the cars will be a good drive. So lets drop the Sweetheart talk that you do here because that talk is the same type of talk the old people were doing back in the 50-60s "Sweetheart don't think you know anything we the older ones knows best"

This is definitely not good news. Personally, I truly dislike the interior of the iX, so if this is really the direction BMW is going to pursue, then it's a good bye BMW for me once my current G21 lease is up.

Too early to say whether it's a good or bad thing. 20 years ago BMW was the first to start a shift from buttons spreading over car interiors at the time by introducing the BMW iDrive OS. With this came a colour screen and a rotary dial on the centre console and at the time a similar reaction by enthusiasts stating BMW was shifting away from their heritage interior design elements.
BMW has consistently taken the lead in the field of intuitive in-car operation by constantly developing and building its superiority over competitors systems. Besides, this is probably a good time for BMW to improve the 'wishy washy' gauge cluster displays in current G series cars and hopefully this brings more customisation options. |
