330e charging cable question
When you go out in the morning and unplug the (basic 3 pin) cable from the car, what do you do with it?
Is it safe to leave it plugged in for use later or do you have to put it away? |

I don’t use mine as I have a Pod Point installed. I’d suggest you coil it up and put it back in the provided protective bag!
Mine stays at home. It’s not something I’d like to pay to replace when my contract lease is up |

I’d never leave the cable plugged in btw. Far to risky, fire hazard, insurance implications and the probability of having to replace it if you fry it.

What do you do with your Pod Point cable? It sounds like a bit of a pain in a windy cold winter morning having to coil it up and put it in the bag while you're getting soaked!

Remove or attach. I leave it attached and charging through the night and pre condition 20 mins before leaving. Cable cannot be detached from the car whilst the doors are locked. |

You’d need your wiring/fuses checked if you were to use the 3 pin plug cable as there’s a heavy draw through these cables and using a cooker/kettle at the same time could start a small bonfire if your electrics are not up to it. |

I went for a Zappi as it links with my Solar panels. When the sun is out you can der it's eco + mode to take power only from the panels. Local fitter, works perfectly.

If anyone is in Scotland - don’t forget the EST grant of £300 on top of the £500 OLEV grant. BP Chargemaster fully installed for £149 in this case 👍

Seems expensive against the full price of £779 for a Pod Point unit. What does the extra expenditure get you? |

I presume the same applies to all charging units - in which case PodPoint would be free! |

Perhaps the price is different in Scotland to reflect the additional grant? As you say it’d be free for you lucky b*#@*rs 😉
