I'd say they are quite different actually.

Hardly a copy.

This is obviously not as likely to happen in America where big engines are cheap (untaxed). However, in may other countries, engines are taxed based on displacement so for many in Europe, 2 liter engines are considered a healthy size. This doesn't take into consideration operating costs such as gasoline and energy taxes. Also, it's much harder to speed in other countries so there's even less point of buying a car with a big engine. So people will buy a 1.8 or 2.0 liter engine and then add-on a bunch of M Performance parts.

In America, it's simply cheaper to upgrade to the higher trim higher engine variants. That's why you don't really see many M Performance cars in America. There's no point when you can get an M340i for much less money than something like this 330i with individual paint and decked out in M Performance parts.

Finally, cars like this are purely for demonstration. They don't expect people to actually outfit a car like this. They figure someone might want the paint, or someone might like the carbon fiber diffuser. They don't expect someone to get all of them when you could buy an M3 for just a few thousand more.

I wonder why people like you always have to make comments like this.
Why do I make these comments?? Hmmmm, in a nutshell...My 1st bimmer was a 2001 325i with an out the showroom price of a well equipped auto for a whopping 33K. Currently in a ZCP F80 which was slightly over 80K, I'm sure the "G" series "base" will be along that price line, all about the escalating prices fella, oh one omission, other than the "M" cars they'll be heading to N.America via Mexico, hits just keep on coming. Comprehend? Hope so🙂

Nice color combination on this car. Looks a heck of a lot better than the already tired Portimau Blue we keep seeing everywhere.

Part of what is making this particular car look sharp imo is the super glossy finish of the paint.

I really don't like the way they've butchered the Corona Rings.

For now at least until Trump screws that up.

//M cars will continue to be made/assembled in Germany.
only the 330i will be made in Mexico but not until May or later this year.
don't mix the //M with the M performance cars two different cars...
and nothing wrong with cars being assembled in MEXICO.

M performance parts are always best made for a white bimmer, whatever generation so to speak.

Like I'm oblivious to the facts, did you read my post? Nothing wrong with a German auto being built in Mexico, with a larger price tag than than "F" series built in Germany. Are you okay? Where oh where do I find them...

After many years of BMW I was sad that they don't use V8 anymore (for M3/M4) so I was already thinking about the C63s AMG wagon or the upcoming Audi RS6. But this "only" M-Sport performance" 330 looks soooo nice. If they're producing a G81 I'm sold ....

Agreed - it's a shame as the thin A pillars (relative to other cars) have been a real feature of all 3 series and give much better all round vision. These look as though the blind spots will be awful, making their new, much lauded in the press, 360 display essential I guess.

I agree, the blacked out grill does wonders.
