I have not tried this yet and do not know if it will work but perhaps an interim solution for those that do not have an Esys Launcher and need to edit/code their FA/CAFD files to code-in feature(s) of interest, could have a service provide/member edit the feature(s) of interest into your files and allow you to just use Esys (without a Launcher) to code-in?

I do not know if the TM Launcher has the CAFD mapping to make the FDL coding changes required for your 2021 M340iX....

Perhaps try this (at your own risk)...it works on my 2020 M340iX...

VO Code BDC CAFD5665 ONLY (by right clicking on CAFD5665 and selecting coding) with a modified FA where typeschlussel is changed to the ECE variant of your vehicle. Please note your tail lights will loose its sidemarkers.

If your current typeschussel is 5U93, change it to 5U91....remember to disable Eys Options so that the modified FA is not written to your vehicle.

Yellow are unchanged differences from 07.2019, green are new value differences, and red are values that are still different, but have changed. There were a few previously different values that are now the same, and thus are not listed in my sheet. After making these new changes the rear turn signals function independently without hyper-flashing. Maybe these values will help others with the hyper-flashing issues too.

How do you get the stock ECE parameters to compare?

I only mess with coding about once a year when my car is updated, thus I don't remember exactly offhand. I'll see if I can find the instructions when I'm not on mobile and link it.

Took delivery of my G20 last week and thanks to this forum and larrylam646, I was able to separate the brake lights from the turn signals.

I used the "Coding-Verfication" in Esys to generate .ncd files for the stock 5665 cafd and for the ECE version of my car (by editing the stock FA, replacing the 3 by 1 for Typeschlussel).

I then used BimmerUtility to compare the differences between the ncd files which gave me the same parameters list as those posted by siegester but with different settings I am on 03/2022.30.

However I had a hunch that not all parameters needed to be changed. I did some research on the acronyms used for each parameters in the 5665 cafd. And only a couple were really related to the rear signal operation.

Below are the parameters that I changed. Everything seems to be working as intended.

LIC_FEATURE_14 enable -> disable
LIC_NIVEAU_OVVERRIDE_INDEX G20_US_code2 -> G22_ECE_code2
LIC_NIVEAU_OVVERRIDE_DATA_0 G20_US_code2 -> G20_ECE_code1
LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_PHYS_LAMP_INDEX G20_US_code1 -> G20_ECE_code1
LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_PHYS_LAMP_DATA G20_US_code1 -> G20_ECE_code1
LIC_VERSION_DATA wert_131… -> wert_711…
LIC_EDGE_CUTTER_RULE_ASSIGNMENT G20_US_code -> G20_ECE_code

Now if you are retrofitting ECE tail lights with a fog light or want brake force operation then you would need to look at the other parameters.

Thank You, if those are the only parameters that need to change, bimmer code might be able to handle this as well. I will look into it when I get a chance.

I have only been trying to do this for 3 years without ESYS :-)

Tried this last night and everything looks good.
I made one tweak to LIC_NIVEAU_OVVERRIDE_INDEX.
I set it to G20_ECE_code1 instead of G22

Did you do it with Bimmercode? I have never used esys and I really hope this can be done with bimmercode.

I took the value from the ECE cafd but I am not even sure if LIC_NIVEAU_OVVERRIDE_INDEX and LIC_NIVEAU_OVVERRIDE_DATA_0 make any difference. I haven’t tried keeping them on the US setting. I suspect they are related to the brightness of the lights as Larry said there is a difference between US and ECE.

It’s possible that you could get away with changing even less parameters than the list I posted with some trial and error.

I just tried coding this via Bimmercode.

We can change all above discussed parameters except

LIC_VERSION_DATA wert_131… -> wert_711…

Everything else allows turn signals to be separated but without the correct LIC VERSION DATA, we still get hyper flashing.

Bimmercode allows LIC VERSION DATA to be customized fully but we will need the detailed values out of wert_711

If someone can figure that portion out on bimmercode, I think we are there.

I think the Werte values may be dependent on model and CAFD version. Attached are screenshots (BU and EsysX) for my Canadian 2020 M340iX using CAFD5665_13_068_205.

Hello,

I followed Larry guide on Page 5. Thank you for this great one!
https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1&postcount=90

I replaced US with EU rear lights and EU switch, added the wire, VO coded 5665 with EU version and set LCE_BEL_LIN_VAR in 7083.
Rear Lights became EU, no errors in ISTA, everything works fine, but there is no reaction on the fog light button (on the dashboard, no fog light switches on).

Is there something else to code? Incorrect wiring? Not working switch?
