Wow, that's pretty disappointing.

That spy shot (if you mean the below) looks slightly different, but weirdly, if that is really the M3/M4, it would look closer to the regular 4er than the 4er M-Sport.

On the other hand, it is not confirmed that the above is a leak and not just a photoshopped mash-up of a non M-Sport G20 and the G22 leak.

Ironically, it kind of shows how non-aggressive the M3/M4 front fascia is, if it could easily pass as a non-M Sport trim.

Some cars look great even in photos, this isn’t one of them. Need to be a real fan-boy hoping it’s better in the metal (me included).

For me; headlights no longer say BMW, they look Audi TT. Side profile is A5, lines are bad (challenging), miss the door handle, line crease. Rear arches look to be pushing up the glass, again not a nice line to my eyes. Rear end is too busy as is common with new BMW’s, but thankfully not as tragic as the X6. The grille and front end is a mess - think the clay knife slipped and they kept going.

Will see how the G82 pans out, check the reviews. For me, what should have been an easy purchase decision is becoming harder.

It wouldn't be a fanboy thing. Seeing a BMW in person became a thing when Bangle was head of design - his whole premise was that you had to see in person to appreciate the design and he was largely correct.

Some BMW's just look good in pictures but look even better in person while others look awkward and weird but that changes in the flesh.

The 8er and X6 are cars you have to see in person to fully appreciate it. You may or may not change your mind but those two cars aren't cars you can judge with a few photographs.

The hoodline is different to the leaked 4er, and consistent with an ealier M3/M4 hood part leak. That's just hints, of course, nobody is sure of anything except the people who saw the secret product presentations.

Problem is we can whine and moan on here for a million pages. It won’t make any difference.

What could potentially make a difference is for some mainstream reviewers to share the same thoughts. People tend to listen to what journos have to say, and if they all agree it’s FUGLY then they might listen to what they have to say and not want the FUGLY car.

Time will tell... quickest LCI in history?

Because it matches this other leak which has the double slat M grille (though horizontally mounted), and both leaks have 4er headlights and overall grille shape
