April and May orders will be the first ones built in the new MX plant and BMW will be limiting the initial builds at the facility to certain content as part of its production ramp up.

Here is what *cannot* be spec’d on the first batch of vehicles from this factory:

• Luxury Package
• M-Sport Package
• Power Tailgate
• Rear Seat Heating

• Glacier Silver Metallic Paint
• Mineral White Metallic Paint
• Mediterranean Blue Metallic Paint

Does this mean orders with these packages and options will be built in Germany at least until April/May, while other orders will start switching to the MX plant in April?

I believe you mentioned in the other thread, "The first batch of cars will come from Germany."

What I'm trying to ask is that if the restriction is only for the MX plant built orders?

These restrictions are just for the MX plant.

Certain options will only be available from the Germany plant. There’s no ordering restrictions from Germany, only Mexico. So a customer just needs to have an allocation from Germany if they want those options. This is more of an issue for internal BMW employees than BMW customers.
