I enjoy Doug. And appreciate him highlighting a few of the tech features I didnt know about.

But the fact that he literally spent 10 un-enthused seconds on the handling of the car in a 25 minute video probably confirms what was already suspected. Its little to no better than the F30.

Combine that with a lack of 6MT and a 2 series it is!

What exactly are they waking up to? I'm pretty sure they're 'woke' since you know, the manual doesn't sell.

It's crazy how many people on these forums have absolutely zero business sense even though they've somehow managed to afford a BMW.

i'm starting to not like his reviews on these new cars. he's not being critical of them anymore, the dealership calls him up, says they've got a smoking new product and he should check it out, and then he comes in and does his over the top glorified sales person pitch and then moves on. he's reviews on older cars from private parties are much better.

His math skills suck!

He said 330 has 255hp and 340 will have 382. Then he says a boost of 62hp????

Of course, the whole review boils down to the notion that this car is for "retarded that can't park too good" on their own or can't reach the volume knob and have to make jerking off gestures to skip a track

Also his turo cars as well. He would rip those cars to pieces if they were truly bad.

BMW is a business. Businesses need to make money. It's that simple. BMW has to keep shareholders are happy. What makes share holders happy? Money. We go full circle. It's not about what you drive, it's about fully thinking through what you're saying.

Guys like us that like to row our own are definitely in the minority. I wonder how many BMWs worldwide are manuals. 🤔. I'll bet it's a very small percentage so I understand why BMW does what they do. With that said I sure love my DCT. Hope that never goes away. Oh wait a minute....😳

It's easy to take this stance if you game the question to fit the answer. I equate this to the same bs that BMW used to tell us we didn't want a wagon in the US.

I didn't buy an F30 because it was a bad car. It didn't matter that it had an available manual.

I didn't buy an F31 or an E91 because I couldn't get it with a six, rwd or a manual.

Now they make a slightly better car (I hope) and they don't offer the options that they themselves killed the joy over.

The Quandts have done a respectable job of staying independent. I would question how many more anodyne cars like the F series or outright failures like the i series they can weather though.

I'll watch from the sidelines, from inside a VW and an Audi (two VW's.)

You'd be correct if BMW was the ONLY manufacturer killing the manual.They're not. Others killed it off way before BMW ever did.

Same applies for wagons. Only Mercedes and Volvo in sell wagons in the premium market. I don't think the E wagon will be back next gen.

The manual is no longer cost efficient enough for them to R&D so it can handle torque and so it doesn't break, or so the gear shifts are smooth because a very small percentage of people bought them.

The G20 isn't anything like the poorly thought out F30. Significant improvement over the former generation. Then again, anything really was a step up over the previous generation. The F30 was THAT generation in the 3 series lineup. I love my S5, but Audi doesn't really seem to have the features that MB and BMW have, such as adaptive headlights or brake drying. Not sure if it is a cost cutting measure but it's annoying. I also hate the understeer. Still the best DD I've owned.
