They keep talking about the E21 like it was some kind of god of cars. I had an E21 and while I love it for being completely analog and my first car ever, it was a dog. I would not call it fun to drive outside of nostalgia's sake. The manual steering, the way the car can be thrown around... I guess it's fine, but we've all been a bit spoiled with modern power and torque, so an E21 with a swap at the minimum is the only way I would go back to an E21.
