iPhone X bluetooth audio issues

Hi guys first time posting in this forum. I own a G20 2019 330i and I have been having issues with my bluetooth audio specifically while listening to music. I own an iPhone X and is currently on the latest iOS. Every time I step inside my car and drive and listen to music the audio abruptly turns on and off. To make it worse the iDrive system will turn off randomly and I have to turn it back on manually for it to work again. It's really annoying and it's making me not like my car. Using the USB port doesn't help at all either. I'm concerned if other BMW owners share this problem or that I'm the only one. I found that Apply CarPlay helps but I'd much rather use the iDrive system more because it looks aesthetically better. Please help or if you guys have any solutions. I tried restarting and resetting the iDrive system but it doesn't help and the problem keep resurfacing. My last choice is to schedule and appointment with the dealer and voice my concerns but I'm afraid they won't help me at all...

I only used Bluetooth audio for two days and few kilometers but did not have this problems. Used CarPlay for another few days on long drives and certainly had a perfect connection without hiccups.

Is the IDrive really shutting down or is it muted? If you have gesture control, I know that certain hand positions trigger the two finger gesture which is muting.

The iDrive completely shuts down like the screen turns off.

Sounds like a defective head unit or it needs a SW update. I'd go to your dealer.

Same issue

Hi

I have the exact same issue with my new G20. It is not even a month old. Please can you let me know what you did to get this resolved? Thanks!

I've had multiple issues. Gone back many times for software updates and other crap. It disconnects and I can't even make calls. I'm done with the G20.

Contact BMW customer relations and ask for compensation or to work with them to put you in a different (and functioning) vehicle.
