Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (PS4) vs Pilot Super Sport
I've been going on about repalcing my RFTs for a while now, sorry 😕
Decison time: I have a choice between the Michelin PS4s and Pilot super sports both on 19's 1. Whats the difference? 2. Which is newer? 3. Which will be more comfortable on passive m sport suspension? Or should I just stick to pirelli go flats? Super sports are coming up a tad more expensive than the PS4s for some reason |

The PS4S is the replacement for the PSS, so I'd recommend going with PS4S. The PSS can still be had due to the fact that Michelin supplies them as OE tires for certain automobile manufacturers. After their contractual obligations to manufacture those sizes for the OE's expire, they should move to PS4S. That means if you choose the PSS and need a replacement down the line, you might be in a tough spot.
I could be totally wrong, but this is what I've learned through my own research. |

Some reviewers were focusing on the nylon and kevlar components of the new structure which makes the tires less bendy when cornering
Has anyone found this affecting the side walls and therefore comfort? |

i used to run supersports for years. have since switched to the PS4S as they claim better everything. grip, wear, comfort etc.
day to day driving, no i cant tell much of a difference. dont worry about the comfort difference. the reported handling edge and wear rating is a plus over the old supersport |

I don't think so according to this review https://youtu.be/aMv64liOqIE
Either way I'm going to wait for a bit as the dealers scratched my 793 19"alloys and tried to deny it! Waiting for them to refurb them then I'll change tyres |

I've had numerous sets of PSS and ride PS4S now on my M3. They are a huge upgrade in my mild/wet climate. Noticeable increase in cold weather and wet weather traction and also noticeable improvement in ride comfort and tire noise. PSS was a hard tire in anything less than 70F and terrible less than 50F. So to me they improved everything and broadened the operating temp range substantially.
