Why is that?

I haven't noticed any rattling while driving but when I exit a brushless car wash and slowly drive through the drying fans, when the fans blow on the sunroof it rattles a lot and it sounds terrible.
The same rattle happens (to a lesser extent) when the fans blow across the top of the rear window. |

It sounds like a rattle but it is not. Its the rubber seal squeaking when in contact with body in closed position. Try placing a cloth when closing it next time and see if it still squeaks. I applied silicone lube and it stopped squeaking for a while. This was during my battle with the trunk squeaks.

mine rattles too, tried Gummi Pflege with no success. Trying silicone now, initial results not good but I'm not giving up.
Anyone know how to get the full circumference on sunroof? I can get *most* of the sides when set to tilt/vent, and I can get the front with it opened just a couple of inches, but there is always an area on the sides that's blocked. |

It would close and reverse. Had to take the car to the dealer to get it sorted. My F30 which I owned since new and drove for 6 years had none of the irritating issues I have on this car.

Mine started three days after I picked it up. Very annoying since it is six inches from my head. Two visits to the dealership and they finally replaced the glass. All is well now.

Interesting. I'm just wondering how the glass itself caused the rattling. Do you mean that the complete sunroof was replaced?

No, just the glass. I am thinking it might have been warped.

Same thing happening to mine. They ordered a new bracket for the sunroof and will be installing soon. I'll report back if it fixes it

+1 here. Haven't talked to dealer yet, I found it happened at night time (when temperature is low). When it's hot outside I didn't hear any rattling. Probably it's loose. Will have dealer check it next time
