These are useful pictures. The problem I have with the new BMW Edsel grills is that they are too vertical and make the car look weird. More horizontal grill assemblies make the cars look more aggressive.

The one on the left does have vertical grills but not as vertical as the new BMWs and, most importantly, the grill assembly is still primarily horizontal. the one on the right is absolutely vertical BUT the whole front of the car is much higher to support that kind of grill.

So...to sum up my problems with the new grills, they are oriented too vertically.

On a different topic but I am really looking forward to visiting BMW Group Classic at some point. I was supposed to go earlier this year but it got cancelled for obvious reasons.

I think the open area under the kidney grilles is a problem area. It looks too busy down there and makes it look like buck teeth. If you look at the Sport Line version of the car where the bumper is more solid, that area looks better if there's a solid bit of bodywork around the grille.

It'll look just as horrible.
I've literally always had a new M3 since they came out. I'm done. No more.

absoluteley no flow to the design ... no cohesivness. it looks like somebody slopped together different elements from various designs. They should pay Italians to design cars

Well since there have been so many threads on this thing I guess I'm used to the grilles already. They need to be bigger on the G8X.

I don't know what BMW is smoking thinking the new design represents the heritage they're displaying there.

Look at these two classic designs!
And now look at this one!
See!

Uhh, sorry, not the same BMW!!

The new grille are too long and wide compare to the classic ones where it's skinny and shorter, so again, NO!!

BMW please have your employees go see an ophthalmologist!!

I don't think anyone had a problem with the fact they were "upright" haha, just that they are the size of an e30?
