Just picked up my 2020 330i. First time even driving a BMW and I love it! I'm coming from a 2018 Honda Type-R. Type-R was definitely faster, but the BMW is so much more refined and I wanted the X-drive for the harsh Canadian winters. Black grill, window tint and the dealership is also powder coating my wheels black next week. I'll be looking into an air intake, JB4 or Bootmod and also a transmission tune from XHP when available. Open to any suggestions!

Welcome and congratulations!

Someone else recently brought up getting those same wheels powder coated black and a comment was made that I will repeat here. The silver on the wheels is a nice contrast to the black car. I agree and add that the wheel design is very nice, especially for a stock wheel, and I think that little bit of silver overall makes the car look more interesting and engaging. All black wheels on an all black car just sort of looks boring now that is has become so common, and I'm not normally a fan of silver trim on cars. It's just my opinion so feel free to disregard.

I will however, require you to get rid of those ugly orange reflectors with a set of painted replacements from IND. It will make your car look much cleaner. I hate those North American mandated reflectors!

I'm so used to those side markers in Canada that I hadn't even noticed until you pointed it out. And I had seen the other post about the guy with the same car as me, but the dealership is powder coating them for me as a "throw in" in the deal so why not. I'll post a picture of the car when it's done

That’s a nice “throw in”. They’ll look nice for sure. I have a feeling, based on your mod list, that you have already been looking at aftermarket wheels. You could use your stock wheels for dedicated snows and your car will still look great in the winter months.

I’m not sure why those kinds of orange markers bother me so much but they do. I haven changed them out an any car I’ve owned if there was a replacement available. I got the IND painted markers for my M340i. They’re kind of expensive but they use OEM parts and then do a really good paint job on them. I think one could wrap them in matching vinyl as a cheaper solution.

I just ordered an MP carbon fiber trunk lip on eBay. Hopefully it will be a decent quality and look. BMW is a whole new platform for me that I am not used to modding so I have a lot of research to do. I am looking at getting a JB4 as my next purchase. Coming from a 350hp Civic Type-R I am looking to get a bit more punch out of the car. But it seems pretty hard to find much information about tunes for this vehicle. Any suggestions are very appreciated!

Congratulations, welcome and enjoy in good health! I came from a 2006 Civic EX coupe 5MT to my first BMW many years ago. Once you understand the killer package of sport, comfort and tech that BMW has put together, you may find it hard to leave!

Black grill is on! Rims are off to get painted and windows tinted. carbon fiber trunk lip arrives tomorrow. I can't wait to see the finished product. also ordered the bwm coloured grill inserts. I think the blacked out look will make those 3 colours on the grill stand out
