Lowered on Dinan Springs....

**edit added updated pics to original post for a/b reference**

My Son headed out with with a photographer friend yesterday to capture some decent shots of the car which I will share in about a week when I get them (unlike my crap iphone photos) but for now here you go.

Ride is oem like I am quite pleased. I am happy with the drop - I have never been a fan of lowering springs on stock wheels because it just looks "off" to me (maybe too dumped) - but this combo works. If I saw this on the lot I would just think it looks "right" not lowered - that's what I wanted

ps-Son tells me I should start posting stuff to Instagram soooooo....I did white_M340 if you care :-)

pps: Burger spacers installed 13 rear 15 front - while it's only 2mm I wish I had gone 15 all around

It looks great, we know you have good taste in modding your cars. Let us know how the ride is with lowering. Do you have adaptive or standard M suspension?

that's very kind of you...thank you

this one has standard suspension, I really wanted adaptive and would have ordered it - but in that I grabbed this car off the lot I had to let go of quite a few things off my wish list. That said ride is very similar to stock and I am very pleased with the results both in terms of appearance and ride quality

Perfect, I feel better about lowering my car at this point once I order it. I may go the ACS route and am agonizing over 19 vs. 20's. My 7 series are on low-profile tires now and I bent a rim and damaged two tires. I am very cautious and anal about my cars so its a decision I will make once I have a M340i. Thank you for responding.

Your car is looking good! I love the subtle DINAN 1" drop. Do you have a square 19" set-up or staggered? I'm trying to decide what size spacers on my car right now and I'm thinking 15mm front/back with my 19" square set-up.

Thank you! The wheels are staggered - I think 15 all around would bring you nice and flush with no poke

Here's to hoping so!

And that's exactly why I had my F30 lowered into KW's

I just posted this in another thread...but it's applicable here as well. Here's some good video that shows...the wheel gap of the Dinan Springs (under load and not) and also wheel offset with a 13mm spacer in the rear

Did you get Dinan springs only or did you also get the ride quality kit as well?

Following up, how has the ride quality been with the stock static dampers?
Noticable stiffer ?
Thinking about putting these in my DD 340 and would like to address the wheel gap, but retain stock compliance.

Also, how's your front ground clearance been?

I have not noticed any degradation since install - I remain quite pleased with the ride quality overall. It's a bit more stiff vs stock as you would expect but it is IMHO well within acceptable limits for daily use. Last weekend I drove my 83 year old mother 100 miles out to palm desert to drop her off at a friends and not a peep out of her regarding ride quality

Well I made things a bit more difficult on myself by adding an oem style front lip and I do have to be careful in driveways and sometimes scraping is unavoidable.

I would not hesitate to lower it again on Dinan springs. And this is coming from someone that said I would never lower a car again unless it was coilovers because I have had less than stellar results lowering cars on springs only over the last several decades.

Hope this helps -

Just got a system notification that this is a "popular thread" so figured I'd recycle these pics for anyone that may find them helpful for reference (the car on aftermarket wheels with the dinan springs)
