"No Signal" on Display
I went to start my car yesterday and saw that I was getting a "No Signal" error message on my M340's iDrive display. I've tried resetting it by holding down the volume button to no avail. The car drives and the driver and heads up displays work but not the iDrive one. I hoped it might resolve itself on its own but after driving for a while no luck.
Does anyone have a clue how I might be able to possibly resolve this myself? Can I "hard reset" the iDrive? I made an appointment with my local dealer but they can't see me until Monday. |

It also used to go when I reversed and the rear camera came on. Out of interest, have you done any coding? There was a report on babybmw that this happened after someone coded it. But that was ok idrive 5.

Did you try holding down the volume button for 90s or so? I remember you needed to hold it down for a long time to get it to reset.
But I’ve never heard of this happening to anyone. Let us know what the service centre says.

There is no single HU in the G20, there is a HU-H unit under the dash connected to the CID, and another unit in the trunk -RAM unit.
Either of those two units is having a problem sending the video signal to the CID, the CID is having video problems or the cable between the CID and the dash unit is defective for the " NO SIGNAL" to be displayed. For sure, there is power in the CID. Last edited by Encanto; 07-02-2020 at 03:54 PM.. |

So it turns out that they needed to replace the head unit for the center iDrive. All seems well -- I'm also now on iDrive Version 03/2020.58.

Crap, just had this occur to mine today - '69 plate, about 25k miles. Rang dealer and said to try the volume button HU reset trick and leave it overnight to deep sleep and see if anything changes in the morning, otherwise call them again.
The real kicker is I am literally days(!) out of the manufacturer warranty period... Other things I noted were it seemed KAFAS was not picking up road signs for aSLA, GPS seemingly not present as it was not showing road info on the instrument cluster, and parking sensors were inop also. E: Seemingly rectified after the reset and some time with the car in "deep sleep" overnight... Last edited by Talisman77; 09-28-2022 at 02:12 PM.. |
