My experience is that saying....."neither fish nor fowl" applies......anything good on the street doesn't have enough bite for the track and track pads on the street squeal and eat rotors....just change them out when you go to the track.

I have used Hawk DTC pads front and rear at the track on my 2017 M2 and I understand that they fit the M340i so I will try them out this Fall.

What was the verdict on the Hawk pads for track use?

I never could find track pads for my m340i back in 2020 the one time that I tracked it....I used Hawk pads for my M2 and HT 10 pads for my prior M3s and they were great....I did install stainless steel brake lines and ATE fluid in the M340i and the stock pads held up for the day but I don't think they would work on a track requiring heavy braking like Watkins Glen..

I dont think you can find pads great for track and street.

But the Hawk 5.0 are really good on the street and you can use them on the track

I'll be contacting you soon, Mike, for the brake pads, as well as some other goodies I need in preparation for my next track day.

Can anyone suggest a set of ceramic or cleaner dust free pads for street use?
