Question about warranty in USA

Hi,

This may sound stupid but just curious:

I bought a 2020 X3 M40i in NY state, and due to the job relocation I'm in different state now. Can I go to any other BMW dealership to do free maintenance (3years maintenance program) and repair under warranty? Will dealer offer free loaner car?

Yes, warranty and maintenance program is good through all of the BMW USA dealer network.

As for a loaner, that kind of depends on the dealership. Some may not offer since you didn't purchase from them. I would imagine most would be willing to offer a loaner though.

I would suggest that you introduce yourself to the Service folks at your prospective new Dealership, and explain that you are looking for a new base to get your X3 serviced at, due to the fact that you have relocated. That approach has worked for me in the past for securing a Loaner vehicle while mine is being serviced. They just need to be comfortable that you plan to be a regular Customer.

One hundred percent agree with this. Get to know your new SA and build that relationship...that said, many years ago I bought my first BMW at a dealership 45 min from my home and that was the only time my car saw that dealership. I had it serviced at the dealer 10 min from my home and they never once gave me any issues when needing a loaner.

The service end is where dealerships make all their money, and getting a loaner from them will be no problem. They're just glad to have your business, and loaner cars is a part of their plan to get you into their repair shop. I'm sure you won't have any issues at all.
