Glacier Silver M40i - Red or Blue Calipers?
Hey all...Future owner of a Glacier Silver M40i here. I'm designing my build now and I'm stuck on the last detail...looking for some advice.
I'm planning to order the following: Glacier Silver M40i Shadowline trim 20" 699M wheels Cognac interior I was initially thinking red calipers which I think blends in a little better with the exterior and the taillights. However, I'm afraid that might clash a bit with the Cognac interior. The blue would hide a bit more and not be as noticeable. Thoughts? Any current owners of a similar build have a take? If I was ordering White, Black or Graphite, I'd be pounding the Red button instantly. First world problems here, I know... Thx for the help! |

Agreed, with the Glacier Silver I would go blue.

I have the blue calipers on my sophisto grey, but if I had the choice I'd go with red calipers...especially on silver. Stands out more

Oh my, this has turned into quite the debate i see...The panel is split.
Red would look awesome if the interior was black but the Cognac throws that off a bit -unless somebody else has any real world examples of red with Cognac. Great info from the replies so far... |

About 90% of all the cars I've owned have been silver. I went with the Phytonic Blue on my m40i. It's really nice and I've enjoyed the change, but it looks filthy all the time. If it suddenly needed replacement, I'd get the silver + blue calipers.
I do think the two black colors offered look really good with the red calipers. |

M Sports Brakes with Red Calipers for X3 M40i
I just took possession of a Glacier Silver 2021 X3 M40i last week. I ordered it, and initially I thought about the red calipers, but caucused my eldest son for his take on the color choice, and changed to blue. I'm more of a stealth mode guy, so although the red calipers might look a bit "cooler" or flashier, I think the blue blends better with glacier silver. I also got the summer performance tires, the M Sport Differential, and the Adaptive M Suspension, not that those having anything to do with color. I have noticed on Tire Rack, and from talking to a Tire Rack guy, that at present the tire choices are not all that expansive if you wanted to get a winter tire or more all-terrain type tire. BTW, my wheel/tire size choice was 19", mainly for comfort and dealing with not so pristine roads. I'm really not much into cosmetics as a factor in my decisions.
