M40i Coolant Leak when Parked?

Noticed a small puddle of coolant underneath the front of the car. The car hasn't been driven in the past few months and won't be moved until the spring.

This is the second time it has happened - the exact same thing happened just over a year ago when the car was parked for a week over the holidays. My dealership found a leak between the radiator feed line to the expansion tank and replaced a radiator hose.

I've never had any issues with coolant loss when the vehicle is running and driving. I find it super odd this has now happened twice, both times when parked.

Anyone else experience this?

Inspect the engine area around the coolant tank and check for any signs of leakage or crusty around any connections.

We had one fella on here, who had animals eating his hoses and wiring and all sorts!

Maybe that is where they thought it was coming from...

Go back to them since the warranty is 4 years, you are covered.

Funny I stumbled on this. I know it’s an older post, but, mine is such a small leak, it doesn’t make it to the ground. One of the very small hoses on the coolant tank is the only spot I see evidence of a leak on mine. Dunno what your answer was, but I’m starting there on mine.

I just had My18 in for the second time last week. The first time they cleaned the expansion tank connection , hose and topped off the coolant . My SA said if it does it again that they would replace the expansion tank and hose from tank to the radiator. It stopped leaking for a week or so and then started again . Brought it back last Wednesday and they changed both the tank and the hose .The SA said it’s a common occurrence , BMW uses a quick connect style connector and he said the O Ring drys out and starts to leak. So far so good .

Following up with the dealerships diagnosis of the issue to help others in the future. Leak was coming from the o-ring on the coolant line for the aux coolant pump for the low coolant circuit.

Part numbers for everything that I had replaced below, if memory serves right I remember being told there was a TSB for this.
