m40i Stock Exhaust Question

It seems that only the passenger side is working. I thought it might only be during warm up but I've been watching it and it seems consistent regardless of operating temperature.

Is that normal?

I thought I read something about that somewhere. I was concerned because it didn't seem like the driver side was ever opening up but I checked after an hour+ drive and both were working.
