Crack in door?

Stupid question but have a 3 month old 2020 X3 and wife noticed what looks like a crack in the door frame when you open the door up. It’s present on all the doors so I think this is part of the design..but it just looks a bit odd. Is this for draining water or something? Everyone else has it, right?

As designed, it is a water drain shaped that way to resist clogging and manufactured without drilling a potential corrosion point
